In November we are offering two programs for the younger side of ophthalmology. On Nov. 2 we are piloting a coding workshop specifically for ophthalmologists and ophthalmologists in training. Then on November 14 we are hosting a seminar on the role personality plays with patients and colleagues at work at the medical offices of MiSEPS’ YOS Chair, Michael Siegel, MD.

Developed specifically for the young ophthalmologist and ophthalmologist in training, this pilot program will cover some of the most important aspects to help you begin learning appropriate coding and billing practices. The topics will include:
• basic components of exam coding
• choosing between E&M (94xxx) and Eye (92xxx) codes
• understanding CCI edits, modifiers, global periods and add-on codes in billing for surgeries and ancillary testing
• learning about LCDs and other differences between commercial payers and federal/state funded plans (ie Medicare and Medicaid)
Attendees will be provided a guide of resources to help foster continued growth in coding and billing.
