Michigan was very well represented in Washington DC at the AAO’s 2019 Mid-Year Forum. We had seven residents from four Ophthalmology residency programs — Beaumont, Henry Ford, Kresge and University of Michigan participate.
They spoke eloquently on behalf of their patients and profession about pressing issues like the risks of step therapy (fail first), the headaches of prior authorization, the opportunities of telemedicine and the necessity and benefits of federally funded vision research.
Other MiSEPS doctors who participated were Dr. John Roarty, Dr. Scott Westhouse, Dr. Anne Nachazel, Dr. Luisa DiLorenzo, Dr. Paul Edwards, Dr. Philip Hessburg, Dr. Tim Page and Dr. Maria Woodward as well as AAO President Dr. George Williams.
